Allen Joseph Matchett, of Miramichi, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the age of 60.

Born in Chatham, he was the son of Iris (McKay) Giles and the late Albert Matchett. He worked as a mechanic with Girouard's Repair Center and was a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Cathy Maillet-Matchett of Miramichi; son Terry Matchett of Miramichi; stepdaughter Tara Sutherland (Eddie Marsh) of Miramichi; stepson Desi Sutherland of Miramichi; mother Iris (McKay) Giles (Sinclair Giles) of Miramichi; two sisters Ruth (Tony Curtis) of Fredericton. and Georgina (Jacques Comeau) of Miramichi; brother Cory Matchett (Lori) of Miramichi; granddaughter Brooke and grandson Austin; several nieces, nephews and two great nephews.

Besides his father Albert, he was predeceased by his sister Hazel and baby brother Howard.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Friday, June 14, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11 am, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Interment will take place in Miramichi Cemetery.
