Alma Alice (Peterson) Wilson

March 26, 1928 — January 15, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Alma Alice (Peterson) Wilson. Alma was a wife, homemaker, grandmother and mother of nine. She was born to the late Melvin and Cassie Peterson, on March 26, 1928, in Upper Blackville, NB.

Alma raised nine children in a small home on The Howard Road. It was not easy for her, but this amazing woman of faith made it work.

She was a pillar in the community, and known for her baking for miles around. She was a long standing and active member of the Upper Blackville United Baptist Church, where she served as a church teller. She was also heavily involved with the Ladies Missionary Group.

Alma was a fierce believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and passed away peacefully at her home on January 15, 2025, as she slipped away into the arms of her loving Saviour. She will be dearly missed.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Perley Wilson; sons Dale Wilson and James Wilson; brothers Merle, Hinson, and Claude; and sisters Laura, Leta, and Phyllis.

She is survived by sons Royce (Isabel) Wilson, Rickey (Adeline) Wilson, Brent (Davelene) Wilson, John Wilson, Leonard (Linda) Peterson and daughters Rose (Darwin) Morehouse and Janet (Darrell) Morehouse and daughter-in-law Colleen (James) Wilson.

She is also survived by grandchildren Christopher and Sabrina Wilson, Rickey, Mark, and Douglas Morehouse, Kristine Morehouse, Jeffery and Bradley Wilson, Jamie Wilson, and Jonathan, Daniel, and Natasha Wilson. Along with several great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Visitation will take place at Upper Blackville United Baptist Church, on the Howard Road, on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 4 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2 PM, with Rev. Paul Inman officiating. Interment will take place in Upper Blackville United Baptist Cemetery, at a later date.
