Alton Mullin, of Miramichi, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, at the age of 82.
Born in Sillikers, he was the son of the late Walter and Effie (Dunnett) Mullin. He was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church as well as the Progressive Conservative Party.
He will be sadly missed by his three daughters Joy Steeves (Karl) of Quispamsis, Carol Ford (Phil) of Carcross, Yukon, and Sandra Amos (Bev) of Fredericton; his son Brian (Susan) of Miramichi; his sister Audrey McLeod of Montreal, Quebec; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Ethel (Falconer) Mullin; two brothers Melbourne and Raymond; and one daughter-in-law Tammy.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Saturday, September 1, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at 2 pm, with Rev. Gary Countway and Rev. Weaver Amos officiating. Interment will take place following the funeral in the Miramichi Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church or to the Diabetes Association.
