Ann Elizabeth (DeWolfe) Richard

Ann Richard of Moncton passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at the Moncton City Hospital, at the age of 87.

Born in Newcastle, N.B., on June 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Corinne DeWolfe of Nordin.

Ann attended St Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Moncton. She was a stay at home mom, she taught religion classes at her home and she also volunteered at the library at the Beaverbrook school reading to the children.

She loved to play cards with her friends in Newcastle, she also enjoyed knitting for her family and others. In the past year she looked forward to playing bingo with her family on Wednesday evening.

Ann will be sadly missed by her three sons Brian (Vicky) of Miramichi, Larry (Ruth) of Shediac, and Ralph (Debbie) of Miramichi; her six daughters Linda Beal (Reg) of Upper Coverdale, Judy Russell (Brian) of Moncton, Diane Stacey (Kevin) of Moncton, Paula (Ted Cole) of Shediac, Wanda McLean (Doug) of Pennfield, and Joan Poitras (Marcel) of Moncton; daughter-in-law Norma (Fenelon) Richard of Winnipeg; her 18 grandchilden; 28 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her husband Lionel, son Keith, grandson Jesse MacLean, brothers Joe, Earl Jr., Pete, and nephew Wayne DeWolfe.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, September 29, 2011, from 7 to 9 pm. Prayers will be held at 6:50pm. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Friday, September 30, 2011, at 11 am, from St Samuel's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Leon Creamer officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.

As expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Children's Wish Foundation, or to a memorial of one's choice.
