Basil Aloysius Colford, of Howards, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 83.
Born in Howards, he was the son of the late William and Ella (Porter) Colford. He worked for the Department of Transportation before his retirement and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
He will be greatly missed by his three sons Kevin of Fredericton, Craig of Howards, and Stacy of Alberta; two sisters Mary Colford of Quarryville and Doris McKeil (Clayton) of Boistown; brother Gary (Patsy) of Upper Blackville; granddaughter Kayleigh and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Florence (Vickers); infant son Troy; three sisters Marguerite Nash, Noreen Keenan, and Patricia Duffy; and brother Ernie Colford.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Father AA McKinnon Memorial Room, Blackville, on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 10 am, from St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Godwin Kalu S.M.M.M. officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
