Blaine Tedi Matchett of Sunny Corner, NB, passed away peacefully in his home on July 1st, 2024, at the age of 63.
Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, on June 27th, 1961, Blaine was the son of Villa Matchett and the late Gerald Matchett, both of Sunny Corner, NB.
Blaine will be greatly missed by his wife Angela Matchett (Stewart), his children: Whitney Matchett (Greg) of Vancouver, BC; Brandan Matchett (Jessica) of Sunny Corner, NB; and Mallory Matchett (Mark) of Edmonton, AB; brothers: Derek Matchett (Brenda) of Kingsville, ON; Bradley Matchett (Heather) of Fredericton, NB; sister: Wendy Childs (John) of Ottawa; and his beloved grandchildren who he thought the world of: Reayah, Lincoln and Poppy; Blaine is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Blaine was a skilled carpenter, and Scaffolder (Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwright Allied Workers Local 1386) and exceptional story-teller. Above all, Blaine loved spending time with his grandchildren, and all of his animals. Blaine loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at his family camp in Halcomb, NB.
Blaine's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to family and friends, near and far, during this difficult time, but especially to Blaine's long-time neighbors and friends, Wesley and Linda Harris of Sunny Corner, for their unwavering support and kindness over the years.
In keeping with Blaine's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Blaine's family and friends will be gathering at Saint Stephen's United Cemetery, in Red Bank, on Saturday July 13th, 2024 at 1 pm and would like to invite those who wish to attend the graveside committal in a celebration of life.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or to a memorial of one's choice.
