  • Blaine Stewart Silliker, of Miramichi, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the age of 74.

    Born in Sillikers, he was the son of the late Delbert and Merle (Stewart) Silliker. He worked at and was a member of the North and South Esk Lion Club for 15 years and also served as King Lion a few terms. Blaine also managed the bowling alley and helped maintain Sillikers Rec Centre. He also volunteered much of his time to the Lions Club and Salvation Army.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife Freda (McAllister) Silliker; stepdaughter Corinne Nolan of Miramichi; three stepsons Greg Nolan of Hanover,ON, John Nolan of Kitchener,ON, and Richard Nolan of Calgary,AB; one sister Patricia Silliker (Paul Porter) of Rowena,NB; two brothers Gary (Susan) of South Esk and Jack (Eleanor) of Hampton; three step grandchildren Julie, Jordan, and Jared Nolan; three nephews Richard Silliker of South Esk, Ryan Post of Rowena, and Eric Post of Toronto,ON; one aunt Inez Stewart of Halcomb; nine sister-in-laws Anna Guitard (Gus) of South Esk, Janice Dutcher (Eddy) of South Esk, Susan Sherrard (Byron) of Miramichi, Fern Hare (Sandy) of Curvington, Cathy Somers (Terry) of South Esk, Helen Gibbs (Brian) of Miramichi, Betty Henderson (Randy) of Miramichi, Loretta McAllister of Miramichi, and Theresa McAllister of Miramichi; and two brother-in-laws Art McAllister (Carol) of C.I. Road and Paul McAllister (Kathy) of Miramichi.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 1 to 4 pm and 7 to 10 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 2 pm, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Dan Melanson officiating and music provided by Kendra (McAllister) McLean.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
