Carman Walter MacKnight

Miramichi N.B. - Carman W. MacKnight (68), of Special Care Home –Edmonde Breau, Neguac, formerly of Burnt Church, N.B. passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on April 9, 2007.
Born in Burnt Church on May 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Walter John and Frances Bernice (Loggie) MacKnight. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Carman graduated from Harkins High School in 1958 and from The N.B. Technical Institute, Moncton Campus in June, 1959, where he led his class in Electronic Technology. He worked in that trade for over forty years earning the reputation of being a very competent and reputable technician.
He was a member of St. David’s United Church, Burnt Church and was active on various boards. Carman really enjoyed outdoor activities; he was an avid hunter, fisherman and bird watcher. He especially enjoyed the moose hunting trips and was involved in bird counts and surveys until 2002 when he was forced to give it up due to deteriorating health. Snowmobiling and boating were also his favourite past times.
He is survived by a sister Nan (Donald Johnston), of Miramichi; one brother Warren (Joan) MacKnight of Moncton; one niece Lisa Steeves; three nephews Robert and Barry MacKnight and Christopher Johnston.
