Mrs Carmelita (Lita) Catherine (Daley) Hayden, of Chelmsford, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 80.
Born in Barnaby, she was the daughter of the late William and Annie (Hackett) Daley. She worked as an R.N.A. until her retirement and was a member of St Edward's Roman Catholic Church, in Chelmsford.
Lita will be sadly missed by her husband John E.Hayden; six children Colleen (Michael Walsh) of Qatar; John W. (Pamela) of Fredericton, Joan (Kevin Doyle) of South Nelson, Ralph (Julie) of Fredericton, Dr. Michael Hayden (Dr. Tanya Schaefer) of Miramichi, Robert (Bob) (Cindy) of Riverview; four sisters Barbara Regan of Barnaby River, Margie O'Neill of Fredericton, Josephine Harrigan of Miramichi, and Evelyn O'Toole of South Nelson; four Brothers William (Billy) of Barnaby River; Frankie (Donna) of Barnaby River; Edward (Margaret Mary) of Fredericton; Clayton (Diane) of Truro, NS; five grandchildren John T., Lana, Trinda, Ben, and Karen;as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Terry Hayden (1974), her sister Marie McAuley, and her brothers Raymond Daley, and Clarence Daley.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St Edward's Roman Catholic Church, in Chelmsford,Thursday,May 22,2014 at 11 am, with Father Jim McQuade officiating.
