Carol Ann Cook

Carol Ann (Nicholson) Cook, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Percy's Place, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born in Woodstock, NB, she was the daughter of Shirley (Hume) Nicholson and the late Charles Nicholson. Carol worked as a cashier at Sobeys for 45 years, prior to her retirement, and was a member of St. James & St. John United Church.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Wayne Cook of Miramichi; daughter Krista Shannon (Kirk) of Fredericton; beloved mother Shirley Nicholson of Miramichi; devoted sisters Connie MacRae (Dale) of Miramichi and Marg Murray (Tom) and niece Allison of Dartmouth; as well as many special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews of her extended family.

Carol was predeceased by her father Charles Nicholson; infant brother Andrew; and her sweet niece Mariana.

In addition to her strong love for her family, Carol shared fellowship in the church over the years, from being a girl in CGIT to a member of United Church Women (UCW), as well as singing in the choir. In recent years Carol enjoyed walking with her long-time dear friend Shirley Matheson as well as attending the Miramichi Parkinson's group and PD Warriors where she made many special friends.

Carol and Wayne celebrated 50 years of marriage this past August and had a lovely celebration with family including music by her daughter. A creative soul, Carol loved to support her daughter's creative pursuits. She made her friends feel seen and heard, and also laugh with her sense of humor.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 11 am to 12:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Alice Szemok officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gerard Losier and his wonderful staff at Percy's Place for the kindness and love shown to Carol and our family.
