Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Viola Henderson, of Nelson, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011, at the Miramichi Hospital, at the age of 90.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie (Sullivan) MacDonald. She was a homemaker and a member of St James United Church, in Nelson.

She is survived by her husband William Henderson; four daughters Sharon (Ralph Nash) of Chatham, Regina (Herbie) of Red Deer,AB, Ruby of Chatham, and Cheryl at home; two sons Carson (Susan), and Bertrand, both of Nelson; two sisters Irene Mullin of Derby Junction, and Marion Estey of Alberta; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother Johnny MacDonald, one sister Beatrice Newman, and two half sisters Margie Druet and Leona Hachey.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home,on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, February 28, 2011, at 2 pm, with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or to the Palliative Care Unit at the Miramichi Hospital.
