Mrs. Daisy Craig Savoy widow of MacWilliam Savoy formerly of Miramichi, NB, passed away at Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Edmonton, AB, on Sunday, August 9th, 2015, at the age of 88.
Born in Torrance (near Glasgow), Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Duncan and Lizzie (Craig) Wotherspoon. Immigrating to Canada in 1947 and settling in New Brunswick. Moved to Cape Breton in the late 70’s which she loved as it reminded her of her beloved Scotland. Returning to the Miramichi in the late 90’s where she was a proud member of the Senior Citizen’s Friendship Club, and the St. James Presbyterian Church.
She will be dearly missed and cherished by her daughter, Lorna Deveau, son-in-law Jackie Deveau, of Alberta; grandchildren Kyle Deveau, Ontario, and Ryan Deveau, Alberta.
She is predeceased by her husband, MacWilliam Savoy in April 2015; son William Robert (Billy) in 2013; sister Elizabeth (Betty) Savoy (nee Wotherspoon) and brother William (Bill) James Wotherspoon.
Daisy moved to Cold Lake, AB, with her daughter and son-in-law, spending happy, fulfilled months travelling to Ontario, and Cape Breton where she celebrated her 88th birthday surrounded by family and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15th, at 11am, at Northumberland Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Jones officiating. An internment at Riverside Cemetery, Tabusintac, will follow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Senior Citizen’s Friendship Club in Daisy’s memory, would be appreciated by her family.
