Darren Joseph Brophy, of Howard, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017, at the age of 19.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of Cheryl Gillespie (Kevin Storey) of Howard and Rodney Brophy (Susan) of Blackville.

Besides his parents, he will be greatly missed by his brother Devan Brophy of Howard; three sisters Cassandra Brophy of Moncton, and Ashton and Amanda O'Donnell both of Blackville; paternal grandparents Roger and Helena Brophy of Howard; maternal grandparents Gary and Marlene Gillespie of South Esk; three aunts Cyndi (Ed Gilchrist), Joni Curtis, and Cynthia (David Doak); and many cousins.

Darren was predeceased by two uncles Patrick and Clyde.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Father AA McKinnon Slumber Room, in Blackville, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 12 pm, with Father Godwin Kalu, SMMM officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, or to the New Brunswick Lung Association.
