David Joseph English was born December 9th, 1941 at the Moncton City Hospital, passed away at his residence on July 23rd, 2019, at the age of 77.

He was the son of the late Adrian English and the late Kathleen McDonnell.

David graduated from Nelson High School, attended St. Thomas University and then joined NB Power where he remained until his retirement in 1996, ending his career as Supervisor of the Chatham Branch.

He was a member of the Nelson Softball Association, holding the presidency for two terms, member of the Nelson Housing Committee, holding presidency until 2016.

A charter member of the Father Michael Eagan # 8381 Council of the Knights of Columbus and he was inducted into the New Brunswick Softball Hall of Fame in 2003.

Member of the Alley Cats bowling team, a member of Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Nelson Miramichi, NB, and served as Eucharist Minister for 40 years and a member of Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizen Club.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 50 years, Maureen (King) English, 3 daughters, Kathleen (Levin Rodriguez), Margaret (Ryan Jackman) and Beth (Randy Richardson) and 3 sons, Mark (Nomi Theriault), Matt and Charlie, 3 sisters, Maureen McGean (Late Basil), Rose Mary and Lori, 2 brothers Paul (Jackie) and Ken (Patsy), 6 grandchildren Mariana, Alex, Daniel, Max, Michael and Cassidy, several nieces and nephews, special aunt Carmel Foley, and 2 sister in laws, Rita Swaine (Late Gordon) and Mary King (Late Tom).

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant Street, Miramichi, NB, on Friday, July 26th, 2019, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated on Saturday, July 27th, 2019, at 11:00 am, from Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nelson Miramichi, NB, with Father John Keoughan officiating.
