Donald "Duckie" Joseph Taylor, of Miramichi, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 80.
Born in Nelson, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Collins) Taylor. He worked as a paper machine tender for UPM until his retirement and was a member of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Donald was also a former member of the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Donna (Jones) Taylor of Miramichi; three daughters Cindy (Doug Godfrey), Lisa Taylor (Walter Wilt) and Carla Taylor all of Miramichi; one son Wayne Taylor (Miranda Gullon) of Miramichi; four sisters Patricia Savoie (Lucien), Judy McLean (Ronald), Debbie Lynch (Camille), and Shelly Dickson (Tony) all of Miramichi; two brothers Raymond (Buddy) (Donna) and Gary (Bobo) (Betty) both of Miramichi; nine grandchildren Kelsey (Andrew Malley), Tyler, Megan, Alexis, Cory, Calyn, Madison, Mariah, and Morgan; two great grandchildren Reid and Will; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers Norman, Ernest, and Warren; and two sisters Margaret Savoy, and "Chick" Donna Lynch.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 11 am, from St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Arnie Hachey officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St Patrick's Steeple Fund, or to a memorial of one's choice.
