Donald Daniel McGillan, of Sillikers, passed away peacefully at Percy's Place, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 72.
Born in Tilley, NB, he was the son of the late Donald and Hazel (Bernard) McGillan. He was a woods worker and labourer prior to his retirement, and was a member of Boom Road Pentecostal Church.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Lynne (Allison) McGillan of Sillikers; four grandchildren Landen, Emmett, Drake, and Jorilynne; brothers-in-law Morris Allison (Faye) and Derek Allison (Helen); sister-in-law Irene (Robert); nieces Julie Munn and Olivia Hutchison; great niece Madison; and great nephew Jackson. Donnie also leaves behind his favourite cat Maggie.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Daniel McGillan.
The family would like to thank Donald's special niece, Julie, for everything you have done for us, and being a tremendous help during this difficult time. Also a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Percy's Place, Dr. Gerard Losier, and Dr. Coleman Black for their excellent care and compassion.
Visitation will take place at Boom Road Pentecostal Church, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 4 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11 am, from Boom Road Pentecostal Church, with Pastor Jody Holmes officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to Percy's Place Inc. would be appreciated by the family.
