Mrs Edith Margaret May Cando, wife of the late Andrew Cando, of Miramichi, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Mount St Joseph Nursing Home, at the age of 70.

She was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Jane (Buggie) Nicholson. She worked as a caregiver and was a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church.

Edith is survived by two daughters Cathy Anderson and Ann Breau both of Miramichi; one son Kevin of Moncton; five sisters Theresa (Joe Turcotte) of Bathurst, Louise of Halifax, Beatrice of Halifax, Betty (Howard Barry) of Derby, and Marie Watt of Miramichi; three brothers Murdock (Regina) of Barnaby, Lewis (Pat) of Rainy River, Ontario, and John of Trout Brook; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her husband Andrew (Andy) Cando, one sister Lucy, and two brothers Leo and Lewis.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, August 9, 2010, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, from 2 to 4 pm, and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010,at 2 pm, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Fowler officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
