  • We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Edwina Frances Duthie, of Miramichi, NB. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at Miramichi Regional Hospital on April 21, 2022, at the age of 73.

Born in Newcastle on April 10, 1949 to the late Lawrence and Helen (McEvoy) Duthie. Ed, as she was known by her friends, was known for her great sense of humor and sense of fun. She had great faith in God and lived her life accordingly. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her sons Jerry (Angela) Clark of Upper Miramichi and George Clark of Toronto, ON; stepson Tony MacDonald of Miramichi; sister Bernice Egers of Losier Hall; grandson Braden (Emma) Clark of Spruce Grove, AB and her new great-grandbaby due any day now. She was hoping to see this little one before her passing.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by one brother Clayton Duthie; two sisters Joan King and Opal Williamson; and stepson George MacDonald.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial in Edwina's honour will be held at a later date.

We'd like to thank the Paramedics, Nurses, and Doctors at Miramichi Regional Hospital for the great care and patience with our Mother. We would also like to extend a special thanks to her friends at the Newcastle Manor, and her extended church family in the Miramichi area, who always checked in on her and looked out for her in many ways. We are so grateful for all of your care.

Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Miramichi Regional Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant St, telephone (506) 622-7741
