It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Eva (Greene) Malley of Miramichi, NB; originally of Deer Lake, NL, announce her passing on August 10th, 2024, at home at the age of 77. She leaves behind three admired sons: Stanley Anthony (Lori Absalom), of Taintville, NB, Shannon Malley of Chatham Head, NB, Bill Malley (Jennifer Urban) of Asquith, SK, her beloved daughter Stephanie Hollier (Robert Ross) of Chatham, NB and great-niece Robin Green (Andre Rousselle) of Sunny Corner, NB.
As “Grammy”, she’ll be deeply missed by her 13 grandchildren: Jayden, Cale, Ashley, Kirkland, Jericho, Jade, Cheyenne, Jacklyn, Kyliee, EJ, Aleks, Hayden and Anthony, 6 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Faith, Zanna, Matthew, Sofia, and Ezreal. As “Old Auntie”, she’ll be forever cherished by her great-great-niece Abby and great-great-nephew Chase. She’ll be remembered by her older sister Mary MacDonald (Percy) of Black Duck Siding, NL, younger brother Brian Delaney of Kippens, NL, special nieces, nephews and some very close friends and caregivers. Eileen was predeceased by older brother Ernest Green (Annie) of Corner Brook, NL and her father Arthur Greene of Flat Bay, NL.
Formalities aside, Eileen was a proud single mother that was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. If she was giving valuable life lessons, taking someone in who didn’t have a safe place to go, or was feeding you something she made herself, meant that she cared a great deal for you. Till the very end, she continued to enlighten those around her that the hard lessons in life don’t define who you are and what you’ll become. She was the confidant you didn’t know you needed, the backbone you wished you had, and that friend that loved to laugh with and at you.
In memory of our dearly departed, let’s celebrate the life of a woman who embodied the art of being stubborn with style. Her determination was as unshakable as a Canadian winter. Though she may have left us, her spirit of unwavering persistence will forever linger in our hearts. Let us always remember the lady who knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to make it known, even to the very end. Rest in peace, you stubbornly wonderful soul.
