Fred Harris

April 29, 1953 — June 22, 2024

Fred Harris, of Cassilis, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, on June 22, 2024, at the age of 71.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of the late Stanley and Jean (MacFarlane) Harris. He was a Red Seal Millwright and worked at Heath Steel Mines and Repap Mill, prior to his retirement. He was a member of St Stephen's United Church, in Red Bank.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Patsy (Marshall) Harris of Cassilis; daughters Tanya Mutch (Pat) of Fredericton, Tammy Harris (Allan Irving) of Cassilis, and Serena Hare of Miramichi; sons Jason Hare of Moncton, and Tyler Harris (Crystal) of Sunny Corner; his sister Debbie Scott (Bruce) of Saint John; four brothers Tom Harris (Ann) of Newfoundland, Bob Harris (Mandy) of Cassilis, Dave Harris (Late Rose) of Miramichi, and Richard Harris (Ellen) of Saint John; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Frank Harris.

At his request, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at St Stephen’s United Church, in Red Bank, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 2 pm, with Rev. Geza Szemok officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA, St Stephen's United Church in Red Bank, or to a memorial of one's choice.
