The death of Gary Frederick Dawson, husband of Gail (Stewart) Dawson of Halcomb, NB occurred on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 69.

Born in Newcastle, NB on December 20, 1952, Gary was the son of the late Howard and Inez (Scott) Dawson. He was a retired Stationary Engineer and Heavy Equipment Operator.

Besides his wife of 50 years, Gail, he is survived by his daughters: Lisa (Jon) Vanderbeck, Tania (Chris) Kenny; his son, Howard (Debra) Dawson. His grandchildren: Kassondra (Kris) Vanderbeck, Katie Vanderbeck, and Mallory (Ashton) Donovan; step-grandchildren: Roy (Melissa) Losier and Dianna (Cole) Davis; great-grandchild, Kahli-Rae; step-great grandchildren: Gryffin, Dominik, Ryan, Madison, Neeva, Emma, Addison, Sawyer, and Walker; sister: Marilyn Richardson; brothers: Robert (Donalda), Dale (Darlene), Brian (Cindy) and James; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration for Gary Frederick Dawson will be held on his 70th birthday, Tuesday, December 20, at 1:00 pm, at Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel.

As expressions of sympathy in memory of Gary and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Extra Mural Program.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gary’s Extramural Nurses, especially Holly, and the Miramichi Oncology Clinic staff for the wonderful care and attention they provided throughout Gary’s illness. A special thank you to family friend, Jayde Beaudet, for her unwavering care, support, and love. A thank you to family friend and neighbour, Mark Holmes, for his continuous support and kindness. Also, a huge thank you to all our neighbours and friends for the visits, food, and prayers.
