George Hal Blackmore, of Miramichi, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010, at the Miramichi Hospital, at the age of 62.
Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late George Sterling and Ruby (Allison) Blackmore. He worked at the mill until his retirement and was a member of the New Brunswick Wildlife Federation.
He is survived by his wife Catherine (MacIntosh) of Miramichi; one son Bill (Karen) of South Carolina, USA; two stepsons David and Bradley MacIver, both of South Esk; four sisters Laura (Willard Watling) of Miramichi, Patsy of Halifax, NS, Bev (Mike Timmons) of Miramichi, and Sherry (Jean-Pierre Smith) of St Hubert, NB; two half brothers Tony Wahlls of South Africa, and Jim Wahlls of Barrie, ON; four grandchildren Lucas, Jakob, Owen, and Jessica; three step grandchildren Shane, Amber, and Tara; three step great grandchildren Zachary, Vaden, and Vada; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Sterling David Blackmore.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, December 31, 2010, at 1 pm, with Rev. Willard Watling officiating. Burial will take place later on in the spring in the Boom Road Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
