Mr. Harold Moody, of Blackville, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Miramichi Senior's Citizens Home, at the age of 95.
He was the son of the late Wilmot Stafford and Elizabeth Maude (Walls) Moody. He was a member of the RCMP for 25 years and served 2 services with the RCAF.
Harold was a member of St Andrew's United Church and Northumberland Masonic Lodge as well as Scouting Canada, Highway Patrol, Blackville Chamber or Commerce, RCMP Veteran's Association, and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 49. He was also a Road Test Examiner, issued driver's permits, and played saxaphone for dances.
He will be sadly missed by three daughters Frederica (Lane) Crawford (Jimmy) of Blackville, Leslie Katherine Moody of Victoria, BC, and Norma Jean Collu (Luigi) of Ontario; two sons Peter Moody (Mary Ester) of Blackville, and Wilmot (Billy) Moody (Pam) of Saskatchewan; nine grandchildren Arlene Rhonda, Ashley, Steven, Tina, Stephanie, Dawn, Tyson, Chrissie, and Susan Elaine; 14 great grandchildren Cassandra, Michael, Ashlyn, Daniel, Erin, Mitchell, Ryan, Ashton, Amanda, Chloe, Nichola, Maguire, Macaully, Ethan, Adam, and Taryn; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Isabelle Johnston (known as Johnnie); one son Merrit Moody; and one sister Phyllis Murphy.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at 2 pm, from St Andrew's United Church in Blackville, with Dean Lawrence officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
