Hilda (Sanifas) Vicaire, of Eel Ground, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 80.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Ginnish) Sanifas and was a store owner and worked as a seamstress before her retirement, She was an avid bingo player and a member of St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, in Eel Ground.

She will be sadly missed by her sons Joseph and Donald, both of Eel Ground; her daughter Sandra (George Hogan) of Eel Ground; two sisters Evelyn and Rita, both of Connecticut; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Raymond Thomas Vicaire, one brother, and ten sisters.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, April 29, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 10 am, from St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, or to a memorial of one's choice.
