Joseph Howard McKay, of Eel Ground, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the Moncton City Hospital, at the age of 69.

He was the son of the late Weldon and Alice (McKay) Patles and worked for Eel Ground First Nation before his retirement. Howard was also a member of St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, in Eel Ground.

He will be sadly missed by his three sisters Josie Trevors (James) of Eel Ground, Lorraine Patles of Miramichi, and Patricia Patles of Eel Ground; his brother Freeman (Donna) of Eel Ground; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Judy, and brothers Clarence and Eugene.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Friday, June 29, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 10 am, from St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Fowler officiating.

At the family's request, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, or to a memorial of one's choice.
