Ian Frederick Sherrard, of Boom Road, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the age of 65.
Born in Newcastle, he was the son of Dawna (Harris) Sherrard and the late Omar Sherrard.
He will be greatly missed by his mom Dawna Sherrard; three sisters Gail Colosimo (Paul) of Moncton, Lynne Murphy (Kevin) of Wayerton, and Sally Estey (George) of Exmoor; three brothers Roger Sherrard (Mary) of Loggieville, Paul Sherrard (Susan) of Boom Road, and Kevin Sherrard of Boom Road; and his nieces and nephews Peter, Melanie, Maggie, Robin, Jessica, Katie, Lindsay, Ian, and Emma.
Isaiah 49:16 says “Behold I have engraved you on the palms of my hands”. Ian has been engraved on our hearts. He was a beloved son, nephew, brother, brother in law, uncle, cousin and great uncle. He impacted the community just with his presence. He loved for people to visit and would be the first to indicate it was time for tea. He loved music, especially whistling, and would encourage anyone to whistle for him. His is a light that will be dearly missed.
A special thank you to Extra Mural and to the staff on 2 West for the compassion and care given to Ian.
