It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the sudden loss of Jacinthe Marie (Martin) Colwell, who passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2024, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 65, surrounded by her family.
Born on March 2, 1959, in Baie Sainte Anne, she was the daughter of the late Hyacinthe and Florida (Robichaud) Martin. As a devoted homemaker, mother, and wife, Jacinthe dedicated herself to raising her three children, treasuring every moment spent with them. Her role as Nanny brought her immense joy, and her home was always a welcoming place, filled with compassion and care for others. Her love will be profoundly missed.
Jacinthe will be forever remembered by her husband of 44 years, Peter Colwell; her children, Matthew Colwell (Stephanie), Chris Colwell (Christine), and Amanda Colwell Matchett (Lee), all of Miramichi; two sisters, Marine Lanteigne (Donald) of Miramichi and Ella Woodman (Roy) of Moncton; one brother, Billy Martin (Barb) of Moncton; five grandchildren, Callie, Cohen, Henry, Tenlie, and Anna; along with many brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Celestine Allain and Jeanne Gouchie, as well as her brothers, Livain Martin and Norbert Martin.
Visitation will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 2 PM to 6 PM, with Vigil Prayers at 6 PM following the visitation. There will be no funeral service.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
