James Robert Barrieau, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Friday, August 19, 2022, at the age of 72.

Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Edward and Ruby (McCafferty) Barrieau. He worked as a labourer until his retirement.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Linda (McLaughlin) Davis of Miramichi; daughters Jennifer Curtis and Samantha O'Donnell (Quinton) both of Miramichi and Susan of Ontario; sons Robert Barrieau (Heidi) of Miramichi and Stephen of Ontario; five grandchildren Zakary, Hannah, Landon, Zander, and Lilly; nieces and nephews Christine, Tracey, Austin, Tyler, and Paige; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers David Barrieau and Paul Barrieau; and step siblings Ricky, Teddy, and Theresa.

At his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
