James Stephen Hachey

November 1, 1959 — July 15, 2024

It is with great sadness that we, the family of James Stephen Hachey, of Miramichi, NB, announce his passing on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the age of 64, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.

Jimmy was born November 1,1959, in Chatham, to the late Allan and Jeanie (Oldfield) Hachey.

Jimmy had a passion for hunting, fishing, gardening, playing the guitar, and singing with his daughter Holly. He loved long drives, especially with his dog, Norman, as he was a huge animal lover.

He was a current employee of Dew Engineering for many years and well liked by his co-workers. His co-workers played tricks on Jim Bob (nickname) over the years, such as putting mustard in his doughnut, and a can of beer in his lunch (Nancy was a good lunch maker).

Survived by his wife Nancy (Gray) Hachey; his daughter Holly (Chris Carnahan); his grandson Riley; his brother William Hachey (Libby) and niece Lindsay. His brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Vernon and Fran Gray, Ralph and Millie Gray, Richard Gray, Betty and Vince Mullin, Margie and Clayton Estey, all of Miramichi, and Joyce and Ronnie MacLaughlin of Sussex.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Ruby Thomas; and brother-in-law Junior Gray (Late Sharon).

By Jimmy's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be at Moorefield Cemetery, in Millbank, at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium, 102 Pleasant St., telephone (506) 622-7741. Where your loved one never leaves our care.
