It is with great sorrow that the family of James Ian McInnis (Jimmy) of Red Deer, Alberta announces his death which occurred at the Peter Lougheed Center in Calgary on February 4, 2018.
Jimmy had fought a long battle with lung disease and became a double lung transplant recipient in July 2008. He was an avid Calgary sports fan, cheering on the NHL Flames Team and CFL Stampeders every game.
Jimmy was born February 13, 1955 to the late Edward and late Mae (McLean) McInnis of McKinleyville.
He will be missed by his son Kyle Peters (Mayha) of Edmonton; two sisters Marie Tucker of White Rapids, Wanda Kilpatrick (Stephen) of Saint John; two brothers Eddie (Yvonne) and Billy both of Saint John, aunt Mary Matheson of Miramichi, several nieces and nephews and his special fur friend, Baby the cat.
Besides his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his sister Jacqueline Vickers, brother Laurie, infant sister Debbie, infant brother Frankie, niece Wendy Tucker, nephew Terence Vickers and brothers in law Gerard Tucker and Dale Vickers.
Burial will take place in the spring at the United Church Cemetery in McKinleyville.
