Mrs. Janet MacKnight, of New Jersey, New Brunswick, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, at the age of 81.
Born in Burnt Church, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Jean (Morrison) Wasson. She was a member of St David's United Church, Burnt Church, New Brunswick. She was church organist for 32 years at various churches; the latter being at St David's. She was employed by Ontario Hydro & Texaco Canada, also Canadian Red Cross. She was also a member of New Jersey - Burnt Church Friendly Seniors Group.
Janet is survived by her son Norman (Gaetane) of New Jersey, NB; her daughter Norma Jean Davis (Patrick) of Peace River, AB; and two grandchildren Scott and Jasmine MacKnight.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant St, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 6 to 9 pm, and Wednesday, July 6, 2016, from 9:30 am until the funeral service. The funeral service will be held from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 11 am, with Rev. Gerald Blaquiere officiating. Interment will take place in Burnt Church Union Cemetery.
