Jean Margaret (MacKnight) King, of Losier Hall, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the age of 89.
Born in Tabusintac, she was the daughter of the late George and Anne (MacWilliam) MacKnight. She was a homemaker and a member of St Matthew's Presbyterian Church. Jean volunteered much of her time to the church; she was a Sunday School Teacher and the Superintendent of St Matthew's Sunday School, former Treasurer, Board of Managers, and a member of the choir. She was also a Life Member of Sampson Memorial Society, and a member of the St Matthew's Ladies Aid.
She will be greatly missed by her five children Mark of Miramichi, Finlay (Ann) of Miramichi, Gordon (Anne-Marie) of Beaverbrook, Beryl Savage of Fredericton, and Della Kenny (Danny) of Ingleside, ON; seven grandchildren Vanessa Savage, Morgan Kenny, Matthew Kenny, Nathan King, Easton King (Brandon Shepard), Tristen King (Zachary Anderson) and Daniella Morris-Bowie (Jack); six great grandchildren Jonathan Harvey, Sophie and Misha Kenny, Violet Jean Anderson, and Maxime and Marisa Bowie; her cousin David MacWilliam (Lillian) of Tabusintac; and special nephew Gerald King (Denise) of Oak Point.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth King.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 1 to 4 pm. The funeral service will be held at 4 pm, following the visitation, with Kathy Parks officiating.
Interment will take place in St Matthew's Presbyterian Cemetery at a later date.
