  • John Burton McKay, of Bay du Vin, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 69.

    He was the son of the late Herbert and Mary (Trevors) McKay and worked as a bus driver before his retirement.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife Sheila (McLenaghan) of Bay du Vin; one daughter Ann McKay (Troy Knowles) of Miramichi; three sons John (Joanne Holland) of Bay du Vin, Scott (Cheryl) of Miramichi, and Larry (Kellie) of Bay du Vin; two sisters Carolyn (Romeo) of Moncton and Thelma (Laurie) of Memramcook; one brother Ronnie (Wendy) of Bathurst; six grandchildren Tyler, Tyson, Colton, Colbie, Jordan, and Marcus; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister Shirley, and an infant son Jamie Lee.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Saint John the Evangelist Anglican Church, on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 11 am, with Rev Bob Barry officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Sandra Conroy Charity, Hospice Miramichi, or to a memorial of one's choice.
