John (Jack) Clair Foley, surrounded lovingly by his family, passed away on June 6, 2015 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Semiwagan Ridge, NB on November 21, 1930, he was the son of John and Margaret (Butler) Foley.
Jack followed a career in the Canadian Armed Forces, returning to the Miramichi after retiring from the RCAF as a Warrant Officer. His return to his hometown allowed him to devote himself to family life and to his deep faith in God. A lover of music, he shared his passion through teaching and the operation of a small business supplying musical instruments and providing disc jockey services to the community. Jack loved to travel and has visited many of the countries that so intrigued him.
He is survived by his wife Jeannette (Godbout) and sons Robert (Tracey), Delta, B.C. and Jeffrey Miramichi, grandson Rob Halifax, N.S., granddaughter Jette, Ottawa On and several nieces and nephews and dear friend Bernie Howe who made countless visits to him during his stay in the hospital. Jack, the last surviving member of his siblings, was predeceased by his brothers Martin, Willie, Eddie, Jimmy and Frank and by his sisters Ethel,Helen, Irene, Francis, Mary, Cass, Margaret, and Josephine.
Although we celebrate with Jack the return to his eternal home with his Father for which he so longed, he will be much missed by each of us whose lives he has so lovingly touched.
A special thanks to Dr. Losier and the considerate staff on two west and the Palliative Care Unit.
