    1941-2011

    John MacLennan, of Miramichi, NB, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 69.

    Although, born in Petawawa, ON, he lived his earlier life in Prince Edward Island. John was the son of the late Malcolm and Olive (MacDonald) MacLennan.

    John taught at Miramichi Valley High School for 24 years and also in Arvida, QB for 10 years . He enjoyed spending time with his family and reading the newspaper. John was actively involved in the community coaching Douglastown Minor Mosquito Baseball, Douglastown Cub Leader and managed the MVHS Girls Hockey Team.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife Anne (Braunwarth) MacLennan of Miramichi; four sons Malcolm (Nancy) of Grand Prairie, AB, Billy (Julie) of Fort MacMurray, AB, Michael (Kyla) of Grand Prairie, AB, and Stewart of Edmonton, AB; daughter Elizabeth of Miramichi; three sisters Peggy Gauthier of Charlottetown, PEI, Irene Green (Ralph) of Rothsay, NB, and Dorothy MacLennan (Ron Hedges) of Charlottetown, PEI; sister-in-law Heddy Braunwarth (Rick Weston) of Shawnigan Lake, BC; brother-in-law Conrad Braunwarth (Gisela) of Trenton, ON; six grandchildren Benjamin, Olivia, Vanessa, Ranger, Sophie, and Bruce who were greatly adored by their Grampy; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Lawrence Gauthier.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, October 3, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, at 10 am with Wendell Gregan officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Extra Mural, Palliative Care, Oncology, Canadian Cancer Society, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
