Joseph McKnight of Miramichi passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the Miramichi Regional, at the age of 79.

Born in Napan, he was the son of the late Cecil and Irma (Turbide) McKnight. He was a painter and retired from REPAP mill.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Joyce (MacDonald) McKnight of Miramichi: his daughter Marilyn (Jodey Thomas) of Cross Creek, NB; his son Michael McKnight of Napan; one sister Phyllis Johnston of Ontario; one brother Raymond McKnight (Beryl) of Napan; two brothers-in-law Elmer MacDonald and Les Halman; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Steven; sisters Winnie, Marie, and Anna; and brother Leonard.

There will be a public viewing at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 12 pm until 1:45 pm. A private funeral service will follow at 2 pm, by invitation only, with Steve Shultz officiating and assisted by Alanna MacDonald and Jane McLeod.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Pine Grove Cemetery, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
