Kenneth Michael Woods, “Ken the Barber” of Nowlanville, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side, Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the age of 84, after a brief stay in the hospital.
In Daddy’s earlier years, when he wasn’t at the barbershop, he enjoyed growing and maintaining his garden, sitting outside in summer in the shade having a “toddy”, going to hockey games at the Civic Centre and he was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He took his trip of a lifetime with his brother Harold when they travelled by train through the Rockies.
Daddy was a man of very few words and had a dry, sarcastic sense of humour. He had strong catholic faith, loved music and being around people. He and Mom loved going to Ritchie Wharf to listen to the music during the summer months. He was a very hard-working man, a loving husband, a wonderful father and the best “Poppy” to Alex and Ben. His greatest pride and joy in life were his grandsons. My fondest memory of my Dad from when I was a child, will always be our Sunday morning carriage rides with our pony, Tiny.
Over the past 4 months, we were fortunate enough to have spent some very special time with Daddy. Something that I am so thankful for and I will cherish forever.
Ken is survived by his daughter Natalie (EJ), his grandsons, Alex and Ben, his 2 sisters Connie Cavanaugh (John) and Carolyn Bremner (late Leon Bremner) and brother John Woods (Judy),
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Mary; brother Harold Woods (Evelyn), nephew Paul Wallace (Cathy), nephew Michael Woods and great-nephew Thomas Woods.
