Leo Joseph Gorman, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the age of 84.
Born in Craigville, NB on October 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Gertrude (Fitzpatrick) Gorman.
He worked as a Telegraph Operator with CNR for 35 years before his retirement.
He immensely enjoyed his voyages by train to Hamilton, Ontario to visit his brothers.
Leo loved his family, attending gatherings and entertaining crowds with his famous '50 Cents' song.
Leo was a member of the Knights of Colombus and an avid church goer.
He also enjoyed old Western movies but his passion was watching boxing and recalling several great matches from over the years.
Leo will be sadly missed by his three sons: Jeff (Beth), Bradley (Peggy), and
Michael (Kim) all of Miramichi; one daughter Lisa McKinnon of Miramichi; three sisters Eileen Mick, Helen Galley and Rita Ryan; one brother Marvin Gorman of Hamilton, ON; five grandchildren, Jane McLaughlin (Nicholas) & Katelyn Gorman, Matthew Gorman, Shane Gorman & Michaela Gorman; two great granddaughters Audrey and Caroline McLaughlin; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Stan, Wilfred, Ray, Leonard and Reggie, and one sister, Theresa Butler.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Friday, January 1, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 11 am, from St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Arnie Hachey officiating.
