It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Leonard Jeremiah Hallihan on August 6, 2022, at the age of 84 at his residence of the Shannex Losier Hall surrounded by his family.
Born in Renous, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Sadie (Hogan) Hallihan. He worked at REPAP Mill until his retirement and was a member of St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, in Renous.
He spent much of his time volunteering and was a Past President of the Renous Rec Centre where he also called Bingo. He coached and was very involved with the baseball league and was also in the bowling league.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years Jeannie Hallihan of Renous; two daughters Sarah Mullin (Todd) of Blackville and Kathy Grattan (Chris) of Renous; son Phillip Hallihan (Sarah) of Renous; two sisters Virginia Broome (Lorne) of Whitby, ON, and Marie Hogan (late Hubert) of Oromocto; two brothers Cyril Hallihan (Cathy) of Moncton and Lawrence Hallihan (Betty Anne) of Whiby, ON; 11 grandchildren Jacinda, Hayley, Sydney, Nicole, Carson, Spencer, Danica, Allie, Riley, Sadie, and Easton; two great grandchildren Ryker and Rayne; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Kathleen.
The family will receive relatives and friends from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm, and on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11 am, from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Paul Doucet officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery
