Louis James Furlong, of Doaktown, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the age of 73.
Born in Blackville, he was the son of the late Stanley and Ruby (Brophy) Furlong. He worked in the woods as a thinner and also in the camps as a cook for Forest Protection.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Joy (Connors) of Doaktown; two sons Jeffery (Heather Greenslade) of Rothesay and Rodney (Nadine Duplessis) of Doaktown; wonderful loving Papa to granddaughter Kaley Furlong and grandson Dakota Hovey; one sister Noreen (David Lobban) of Miramichi; six brothers Steven (Mariette) of Cassilis, Richard of Doaktown, Johnny (Florine), Billy (Theresa) both of Howard and Jimmy, Clyde both of Miramichi; sister-in-law June Furlong and brother-in-law Euclide Doucette.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother Wayne Furlong, brother Wallace Furlong, sister Ann Doucette and sister-in-law Lorenda (Connors) Furlong.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Cemetery, Howards, at a later date.
