  • Louise Mary (Martin) Bransfield 83 of Gardiner’s Point passed away on Saturday February 18th, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

    Born on September 29, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Roy and Elise Martin. Louise’s passions were her family, traveling, cards and bingos. She raised 8 children along with her late husband Billy. She was also a Foster Parent for over 20 years giving a loving home to over 200 children in need.

    She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth, Lillian (Charlie), Helena (Richard) and Karen (Michael), and sons Lawrence (Judy), Roy (Paulette) and Adam.

    “Granny” will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Eric (Melissa), Bradley (Daniel), Heather (Shane), Marcus, Sarah (Ryan), Lillie (Rylie), Randy, Aubree, and Erin and great grandchildren Luke, Gwen, Charlotte and Chloe.

    She is survived by Brothers & Sisters: Carmel McIntyre (Bill), Ludger Martin, Edna Livette, Donat Martin (Jacqueline), Simon Martin (Theresa), Zoel Martin (Rejeanne), Wilbert Martin, Vernon Martin (Edwin). Sister in-law Cora Martin all of Baie Sainte-Anne, Many nieces and nephews, and cousin Richard Bransfield.

    She is predeceased by her husband Billy Bransfield, in-laws, Michael Bransfield (Mary), Helen Green (Frank), Tommy Bransfield (Wanda), Steven Bransfield (Ellamay), Abel Lisette, brother Sylvia Martin, and son John Bransfield.

    The Family received relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home in Miramichi on Wednesday February 22, 2023 from 2PM-4PM & 6PM-8PM. The funeral service was held at St. Michaels by the sea Bayside. Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11AM, Celebrant was: Father Daniel Bastarache, Processional Hymn: There You’ll Be - Faith Hill. The eulogy was given by Karen Bransfield followed by greeting & opening prayer. The 1st reading was given by Margaret Burke (A reading from the book of Sirach), followed by Psalm 23 - Surely Goodness, Surely Mercy the 2nd Reading was given by Jean Stevens (A Reading from the letter of Paul to the Thessalonians). Gospel Acclamation & Homily. Prayers of the faithful given by: Margaret Burke Followed by Offertory then Communion: Jealous of the Angels- Donna Taggart. Final Commendation: Songs of the Angels, Recessional: When God Made You My Mother- Riley Roth.
