Margaret (Maggie) Anne Smith, of Ormocto, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Oromocto Hospital, at the age of 82.
Born in Nowlanville, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Turner) Fitzpatrick. She was a Registered Nurse until her retirement and was very involved with the Oromocto Legion Branch No.93. She was also the crib chairman at the Legion for many years.
She will be sadly missed by her two daughters Debbie Loggie of Nowlanville and Lucy McCray (Ralph) of South Esk; two sons Richard (Brigitte) of Winnipeg, MB, and Robert of Oromocto; two sisters Pauline Morris (Artie) or Miramichi and Anne-Marie Fitpatrick of Saint John; two brothers William (Billy) Fitzpatrick (Geraldine) of Boom Road and Joe Fitzpatrick of Nowlanville; sister-in-law Yvonne Fitzpatrick of Nowlanville; six grandchildren Mark Harris, Beverley Harris, Chad McCray, Victoria McCray, McKenzie Smith, and Brent Smith; two great grandchildren Maya and Owen; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Jim Smith and brother Boyd Fitpatrick.
In memory of Maggie, a memorial celebration will be held at the Oromocto Legion Branch No.93 at a later date. Interment will take place in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Oromocto Legion Branch No.93 Poppy Fund, or to the Oromocto Hospital Foundation.
