Margaret Mavis Underhill, or Barnettville, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 83.

Born in Barnettville, she was the daughter of the late James and Josephine (Sturgeon) Underhill. She taught school, worked at the Ammunition Depot in Renous, and also worked at Walls Grocery Store. She was a member of St Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Blackville.

She will be greatly missed by her three sisters Carolyn Coughlan (Cameron) of Blackville, Corliss MacKay of Fredericton, and Susan McEvoy (Weldon) of Blackville; two brothers Trueman (Darlene) of Barnettville and Brent (Darlene) of Blackville; sister-in-law Beulah Underhill of Barnettville; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her four sisters Villa, Marlene, Mary, and Ann; two brothers James and Howard; and two brothers-in-law Douglas MacKay and Aloysius Duffy.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Father AA McKinnon Memorial Room, in Blackville, on Monday, January 13, 2020, from 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 11 am, from St Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Dan Bastarache officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
