Martin "Mick" Matchett, of Red Bank, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the Moncton City Hospital, at the age of 71.
Born in Red Bank, he was the son of the late Norman and Lillian Matchett. He worked as a licensed carpenter before his retirement, and was a member of St Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Peggy (Blackmore) Matchett of Red Bank; three sisters Molly (Benny) of Warwick Road, Norma (Guy Beauchamp) of Warwick Road, and Edith of Dieppe; one brother Irvine of South Esk; sister-in-law Jeannine Matchett; brother-in-law Wendell Allison; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters Mary, Dorothy, and Theresa; two brothers George and Arthur; and brother-in-law John.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 14, 2016, at 11 am, from St Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, with Father Dan Melanson officiating.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St Thomas Restoration Fund, or to St Thomas Cemetery Fund.
