Mary Excelda Ruby Briggs

Mary Excelda Ruby (Martin) Briggs, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Bridgeview Hall, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Frank Martin and Bertha (Ramsay). She worked many jobs throughout her life; waitress, senior's care, cook, but she most enjoyed being a mother and a caregiver to all. She was a devoted member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Chatham Head.

She will be greatly missed by her children Rhonda MacDonald of Manitoba, Catherine Briggs of Miramichi, Jamie Briggs (Marilyn) of Miramichi, Lorraine Briggs of Manitoba, Mark Briggs (Lynn) of Ontario, Shawn Briggs (Josee) of Miramichi, Jefferey Briggs (Eileen) of Miramichi, Tommy Briggs of Miramichi, and Jason Briggs of Manitoba; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband George Thomas Briggs; her sisters Finn Boyd and Lorraine Casey; and her brother William "Blue" Martin.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 12 pm to 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, or to a memorial of one's choice.
