Mary Grace McKay, of Eel Ground, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 67.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rita (Simonson) Francis. She worked as a school bus driver until her retirement and then worked as a homecare worker for a few more years.

She will be greatly missed by her three daughters Julie McKay of Eel Ground, Angie McKay (Bobby Allain) of Eel Ground, and April McKay (Larry Cloud) of Red Bank; her son Kris McKay of Eel Ground; two sisters Theresa Francis and Tina Francis both of Eel Ground; her brother Robert Francis (Karen) of Eel Ground; eight grandchildren Brandon, Breanne, Dustin, Jorja Grace, John David, Gracie Lynn, A.J., and Joseph; three great grandchildren Heath, John William and Marie Louise Grace; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John McKay; common-law partner Ray Somers; son John McKay; and her brother Edward Francis.

At her request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place in St Joachim's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Eel Ground, at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
