Emma Murphy

Mary Leola Emma LaRocque (Driscoll) Kenny Murphy, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 76.

Born on August 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John LaRocque, Ida (LeBouthillier) LaRocque, and Edward (Babe) Driscoll. Emma was a homemaker and lovingly raised her four children. She was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Chatham Head, a member of the church choirs, and was very involved in the Cursillo movement.

She is survived by her children Brenda Friske (Brent) of Cape Breton, NS, Keith Kenny of Miramichi, John Kenny of Miramichi, and their father William Kenny of Newcastle; three sisters Adele LePage (Harold) of Fredericton, Annette LaMarre (Roy) of St Paul, and Lucy Betts (Brian) of Moncton; five brothers Gilbert (Lillian) of Chatham Head, Joe of Saint John, Michael of Nelson, Charlie of Chatham Head, and John (Anne) of Rogersville; 9 grandchildren Crystal, Andrea, Justin William, Tyler, Megan, Nicholas, Jazmine, Jesse, and Justin; 9 great grandchildren Lilli, Charls, Benjamyn Joseph, Liela, Laura, Benjamin Neil, Jeffrey, Andrea, and Jemma; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and her son David Kenny, she was predeceased by her brother Paul LaRocque.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, September 1, 2023,  from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11 am, from Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, in Nelson, with Father Anthony Das Papu officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Reception to follow in church basement
