Melissa "Lala" Stemm, born on November 22nd, 1989, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at her residence at the age of 31.
She was the daughter of Marlena Stemm and Gene Matchett. She was a talented artist, a loving mother, and always generous and giving.
She will be greatly missed by her mother; her children Elexis, Skylaa, and Storm; her sister Mercedes "Sadie" Stemm (Kyle Cottrell) of Halifax; her brother Michael Stemm (Candice Leger) of Fredericton; her children's father Codey Hay; paternal grandparents Bernice and Bobby Matchett; six aunts her Godmother Kim Stemm of Eel Ground, Amy Romeo of Eel Ground, Marcia Stemm of Bristol, Connecticut, Linda Matchett of Miramichi, Jennifer Trevors of Miramichi, and Carrie (Keith) McIver of South Esk; three uncles Richard Stemm of Big Hole Tract, John Paul of Eel Ground, and Paul Hachey of Eel Ground; 15 cousins Evan Stemm, Jesse Stemm, Sebastien Stemm, Emily Marquis, MacKenzie Stemm, Brittany Ward, Sarah Romeo, her Godfather Roger Stephen Augustine (Clara), Bill Ward, Christopher Romeo, Matthew Romeo, Braden Simon, Brooke Trevors, Bailey Trevors, Justin McIver, and Phillip Matchett; as well as many other extended family.
Lala was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Joyce Paul; and her aunt Pamela Stemm Hachey.
Due to Covid restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held outdoors behind the Rising Sun, in Eel Ground, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 2 pm. Proof of vaccination will not be required.
