Michael Francis Gallant, of Miramichi, passed away at his residence on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the age of 75.

Born in River Ryan, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Henry and Catherine (Poirier) Gallant. Throughout his life Mike had a love of music, sports, and politics. He loved country music and shared this passion with his children. He loved the people and friends he met playing bingo. He was a man who enjoyed the simple things of life and loved his grandchildren unconditionally.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Anna (MacTavish) Gallant of Miramichi; his daughter Donna (Brent Gallan) of Miramichi; two sons Michael (Lisa) and John (Wanda) both of Riverview, NB; his sister Julia (Angus Sampson) of Massachusetts, USA; his twin brother Murray (Theresa) of Cape Breton and his brother Raymond; five grandchildren Zackariah, Makayla, Alex, Evan, and Isabel; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral service will take place following the visitation, at 6 pm, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wendell Gregan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
