Miklos "Mike" Kazamer of Miramichi, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 84.

Born in Nyircsaholy, Hungary, he was part of the mass exodus in 1956. He resided in several Refugee Camps in Austria from December 5 1956 until he arrived in Canada on December 18, 1958.

He was a steam fitter-pipe fitter by trade and worked as a pump person, water and effluent treatment operator and Fire protection designate at the UPM/REPAP groundwood mill for 40 years.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was an avid hockey, soccer and NASCAR fan.

He will be greatly missed by his children Ica Kazamer (Gary) of Calgary, AB, Gizella Kazamer-Ward (Stephen) of Miramichi, Csaba Kazamer (Tanya) of Upper Cape, and Tibor Kazamer (Julie) of White Court, AB; one sister Anna Kicsak of Hungary; eight granchildren Janos, Jozsef, Anya, Samson, Jaden, Noah, Emma, and Logan; five great grandchildren Emmanuel, Alyana, Taliya, Madelyn, and Lilly; and his special friend of over 15 years Jeannette Pineau.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife Diane (McAllister) Kazamer; his brothers Imre Kazamer, and Laszlo Kazamer; his sisters Mary Drobnyk and Erzi Toth; son-in-law Allan Connolly; and grandson Max Comeau.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 11 am, from St Mary's Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter officiating.

Please note: masks are mandatory and proof of double vaccination and government ID are required to attend both the visitation and funeral service.
